October 4th through October 10th is World Space Week (WSW) – marked by the anniversaries of both the launch of Sputnik in 1957 and the signing of the Outer Space Treaty a decade later. The theme this year is Space and Sustainability! The aim is to bring attention to how space technology can improve sustainability on Earth, and on finding opportunities to make space exploration itself safer and more renewable.
WSW’s theme fits perfectly with Red Canyon’s slogan – exploring other planets, improving our own! Our team has contributed to many sustainable efforts, from creating the next generation of technology through sustainable engineering via hardware maintenance, network design, to supporting the development and launch of earth observing satellites, and contributing to the management of space junk by increasing the life of satellites.
