Red Canyon joined Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC)

Remember the old saying that you can’t grade your own homework?  Well, that holds true when verifying and validating a spacecraft too!  To help NASA ensure mission success, Red Canyon joined the Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) team to assist on NASA’s Systems and Software Assurance Services (SAS) contract.  The SAS program increases mission assurance through Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V), and Red Canyon is very excited to support!

Specifically, our efforts will be focused on risk exploration, risk mitigation strategies, defining assurance cases which aim to increase confidence in software, and building tools to provide evidence in the assurance cases for the Orion spacecraft and ultimately, for the entire Artemis program.  This aligns perfectly with our 20+ years of experience in Verification and Validation (V&V) across missions like: Mars Odyssey, Jupiter’s Juno, the recent asteroid sample return mission by OSIRIS-REx, and IV&V of Sierra Nevada Corporation’s Dream Chaser vehicle.
