Red Canyon is seeking a self-motivated, detail oriented, goal driven individual to be a Scientific Visualization Programmer.

As part of the scientific team you will collaborate to bring a state-of-the-are visualization laboratory into operation, with responsibility for integrating, calibrating, and operating the visualization hardware, as well as, developing custom scientific visualization applications to run in this hardware environment.
•Collaborate with scientific staff to enable visual analysis of scientific data
•Assist in the installation, integration, and troubleshooting of state-of-the-art visualization hardware (e.g. tiled-display walls, and virtual reality environments)
•Provide scientific staff guidance on the use of the visualization infrastructure
•Present visualizations and demonstrations to visitors making to the scientific work accessible to a diverse audience
•Assist in the writing of technical documents and reports
•C/C++ and OpenGL development experience on Linux
•Extensive background in scientific applications development
•Knowledge of standard computer graphics and scientific visualization algorithms
•Experience working with large-scale tiled and/or blended displays
•Familiarity with tracking technologies
•Familiarity with stereoscopic displays
•Bachelor Degree, Masters preferred
•Excellent technical and communicative skills
•Self-motivated, detail oriented, goal driven
•Advanced degree in computer science or closely related field
•Experience programming in an immersive virtual environment
•Experience with augmented reality development
•Experience with Python, R, Qt, and VTK programming

We specialize in building spacecraft, developing renewable energy technologies to help make our planet a better world and cutting edge research and development. Some of the programs we have previously or currently worked on include: Mars 98, Odyssey 01, Stardust, Genesis and Deep Impact, Mars Phoenix, Mark Reconnaissance Orbiter, Crew Exploration Vehicle – ORION, Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter and the MarsFlight and LunarSIM Simulation. We also work on classified programs.
