Red Canyon is seeking a self-motivated, detail oriented, goal driven individual to be a Software Engineer on the Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS) Evolution and Development 2 (EED-2) program for Raytheon at their Riverdale location in Maryland.

Job Description:
The EOSDIS is a core capability in NASA’s Earth Science Data Systems Program. EOSDIS provides end-to-end capabilities for managing NASA’s Earth science data from various sources – satellites, aircraft, field measurements, and various other programs. For the EOS satellite missions, EOSDIS provides capabilities for command and control, scheduling, data capture and initial processing. The development and maintenance of the EOSDIS website is led by the NASA EOSDIS Evolution & Development (EED) project.

The NASA EED Program is looking for a Software Engineer to work in a fast-paced Agile development environment performing UI UX design and implementation on several large applications.
• As a member of the team you will design and assist in the development of several web-based system, including requirement gathering and estimation.
• Comply with various project standards and requirements of the company as well as the customer and legal requirements of (SEC-508).
• Ensure industry best practices and assets are leveraged when necessary.

Required Skills:
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in core design concepts (composition & layout, color theory, typography, etc.).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with wireframing and light technical documentation.
• An understanding of applications, user interfaces, interactions and all things application and web-related.
• Ability to take a design from concept to wireframe to pixel perfect.
• Understanding of the iterative design process.
• Full understanding of HTML5/CSS/jQuery (ability to hand-code semantic markup and style it)
• Energetic, self-motivated, team player
• All candidates must be able to pass a National Agency Clearance with Inquires (NACI) screening
• U.S. Citizen

Desired Skills:
• Familiarity with the Atlassian tool suite (JIRA for bug tracking, Confluence for collaboration, and preferably Bamboo for continuous integration and delivery).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good experience in preparing IT technical documents.
• Familiarity with the git source code management system.
• Experience with the Optimal Workshop suite of tools.
