Red Canyon is seeking a self-motivated, detail oriented, goal driven Junior Systems Administrator to work on an exciting planetary mission in the Los Angeles, CA area.

The position will work with a team of System Administrators supporting end-users. Job duties include all aspects of system administration including installation, configuration, implementation and maintenance of Linux based hardware and virtual infrastructures.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Help setting up and maintain storage devices, SAN and NAS devices and network equipment
· Help to build, configuring and troubleshooting open source and commercial applications
· Support system backups and restoration
· Providing support to end users
· Participating in the creation of technical and user documentation
· Work with IT infrastructure engineers and systems administrators to define IT infrastructure system requirements and perform system installations and upgrades
· Help develop automation tools in support of the IT infrastructure

Required Skills:
· Knowledge of VMware ESXi/vSphere/vCenter
· Knowledge in scripting (python, shells)
· Experience managing storage, working with Netapp a plus
· Knowledge of design, implementation, and support of networked systems and technologies such NFS, DNS, and LDAP
· Knowledge or experience with Container Technology such as Docker
· Experience with Solaris 10/11 is a plus
· Knowledge of cloud computing (AWS, Azure, Microsoft Cloud etc)
· Knowledge of configuration management technologies (Puppet, Salt, Ansible, etc.)
· Versed in securing the Linux operating systems (firewalls, patching, etc.)
· Experience in supporting end users directly
· Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Desirable Skills:
· Good understanding of routers, switches and computer network configurations including firewalls and troubleshooting
· Ability to operate in a team environment consisting of both internal and external members, co-workers and customers
· Ability to document and electronically store daily task information, architecture, processes, and user instructions
· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
· Experience with DevOps processes, automation, and concepts

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of related experience

The work will need to be performed in Pasadena CA
