Job Summary
This is an entry level System Engineering position. The purpose/function of this position is to provide systems engineering and technical input in support of advanced engineering projects focused on the miniaturization and maturation of technologies enabling the detection and quantification of dissolved organic and inorganic material in water. Initial efforts will focus on the development of an integrated Concept of Operations targeting advanced exploration. Subsequent job functions will include identification, derivation and documentation of interface and functional requirements, identification, derivation and documentation of verification rationale and methods, maintaining configuration management and document management, and execution of trade studies and evaluation of trade space. This position will support through-out the development life-cycle and as such, other typical functions will include assessing solution architecture, analyzing interfaces including human interfaces, allocating requirements to design, review of design and products to baseline requirements, development of products for formal milestone reviews, participation in formal milestone review, peer review of systems engineering products and statusing to the NASA customer base. This position will also be expected to provide general project engineering tasks to unrelated, but more developed projects, in order to introduce standard processes early in candidate's developmental cycle. Typical tasks will include review of design, review of Bill of Materials, acquisition of parts, development of both controlled and uncontrolled hardware and execution of functional, environmental and qualification level tests. It is expected that this position will work under a senior Systems Engineer or Project Manager.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for compliance with Safety, Health and Environmental plan; must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all of the Company' s safety policies and rules and must be willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel
Responsible for compliance with the Quality Assurance Plan, policies and procedures
Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance level as determined by the Company
Responsible for completing all assigned training
Maintain Safety records and certifications
Develop and defend project requirement documents and verification documents
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders
Participate in functional, development, certification, acceptance, and interface testing of the hardware during the different stages of the project life cycles
Correlate test results and data analyses for purposes ofrequirement validation
Provide hardware support and technical knowledge during integrated hardware/software testing
Read, understand and interpret engineering drawings



Education/Experience
Required: BS degree in engineering or related field from accredited university with 0-2 years experience
Desired: Prior work in pressure systems, water systems, analyzers

Skills/Training
Required: Proficent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) Ability to read and interpret Engineering Drawings
Desired: Familiarity with Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML. Understanding of NASA Systems Engineering processes and practices
