Red Canyon is seeking a self-motivated, detail oriented, goal driven Scientific Software Engineer to work on-site at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, CO!

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and/or 2 years of experience in efficient and scalable full-stack web application development.
Demonstrated experience working with scientific data and interfaces for science applications, including data processing and analysis tools.
Demonstrated experience in scientific programming in high level languages such as Python, R, Java, or similar language on Unix/Linux systems.
Familiarity with relational database management systems, including PostgreSQL and MySQL.
Familiarity with open-source data engines like Elasticsearch or Kafka.
Demonstrated experience in Git workflows and Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
Familiarity in CSS3, HTML 5, Javascript (ECMA6 and beyond), JSON and responsive web design with at least one front end frameworks (such as Angular, React, Aurelia, Vue or similar).
Experience with asynchronous, event driven development, and application design for both mobile and desktop platforms with Node.js, Electron, and Express or similar.
Demonstrated experience with CI tools and application integration.
Familiarity in object oriented web frameworks for enterprise applications and framework skills including architecture, implementation, administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

We specialize in building spacecraft, developing renewable energy technologies to help make our planet a better world and cutting edge research and development. Our disciplines include systems engineering, mechanical design, structural analysis, real time flight and ground software, simulation software, user interface software, and mission management software. We help our contractors with the full life cycle of product development from requirements to test and delivery.

Some of the programs we have previously or currently worked on include: Mars 98, Odyssey 01, Stardust, Genesis and Deep Impact, Mars Phoenix, Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, Orion, Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, GOES-R, OSIRIS-REx, Maven, JUNO, Grail, and the MarsFlight and LunarSIM Simulation. We also work on classified programs.

Red Canyon’s home office is located in scenic Denver, Colorado, and our regional office is in historic downtown Titusville, Florida.
