Red Canyon is seeking a self-motivated, detail oriented, goal driven mid-level DevOps Software/Systems Engineer on the DSIO program at Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA.

Raytheon Pasadena is looking for a Software Systems / DevOps Engineer supporting customers located at Raytheon as well as at the customer site at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. The successful candidate will participate in exciting projects and missions as a DevOps engineer and be part of the creation, security, and maintenance of development, test and production AWS cloud environments. The candidate will be part of the team responsible for implementing continuous integration and deployment of code to accelerate development and reduce manual effort. The candidate will participate in the development of AWS cloud best practices across multiple areas as well as support general development tasks related to process and IT task automation.

The ideal candidate will:
• Have an extensive understanding and wide application of advanced principles, theories, concepts and techniques in systems engineering, software architecture, network architecture, virtualization technologies, and cloud computing resulting in contributions to the development of new theories and methods.
• Demonstrate a complete knowledge of industry and/or academic practices and standards across a range of applications related to systems design, network design, information architecture, and information system modeling.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and developing complex distributed IT solutions (e.g. cloud, distributed systems or high-performance computing experience).
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with proven experience working on a large development team.
• Ability to create and utilize AWS Cloud Formation templates, Terraform scripts, Packer, and other related tools to automate creation of ‘fully-baked’ AWS AMI’s.

Required Skills:
• Experience designing and building web application environments on AWS, utilizing services such as EC2, S3, ELB/ALB, RDS, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, ElasticSearch, Config, Cloudwatch Logs, and others.
• Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, Ansible, Puppet, Artifactory, Docker, Docker Swarm, Terraform, and Packer.
• Experience writing automation tools and scripts with languages such as Node, Python (Flask, unittest), or Go.
• Experience with Linux server system administration.
• Experience with installing and configuring application servers such as Tomcat.

Desired Skills:
· AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate preferred, AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional preferred
· Experience and advanced knowledge in the design, implementation, and operations of large data storage or archive systems
· Extensive experience in the tuning and optimization of database management systems
· Experience in enterprise system monitoring tools or frameworks
· Good understanding of cyber security best practices and guidelines
· Knowledge and familiarity with some of the following technologies
Swagger/Open API

Education and Years of Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of related experience
