Red Canyon is seeking a self-motivated, detail oriented, goal driven Communications and Digital Media Specialist on the KLXS-II program at Kennedy Space Center (KSC).

Primary Responsibilities:
Officially serves as an Internal Communications Analyst for the EGS program. Passionately seeks out and advocates for communication across the program, creating compelling stories for our work that resonate with the team and public. Ensures that the program’s employees are kept informed and motivated through the use of multiple communication channels including staff intranet, email bulletins, social media and regular newsletters. Builds a strong network within the team and leverages these alliances to create and maintain content. Works closely with senior executives, managers, supervisors, and strategic communications personnel to establish organizational messages and keep staff informed of developments.

Description of Duties:
Support the Strategic Communications leadership and other key decision-makers to:
• Ensure organizational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and stakeholders
• Plan, edit and write content for a variety of internal communications mediums, such as a staff intranet, monthly magazine or regular email bulletin. You may also be required to work on the layout of content
• Draft messages or scripts from senior executives for presentation to employees in written or spoken form
• Ensure internal communications messages are consistent across all mediums and for different departments of the organization
• Ensure internal communication messages are consistent with external communication messages(example: ensure external facing social media content is consistent with internal employee communications
• Respond to feedback from staff and adjust communications content accordingly
• Update web-related content to reflect current program status, organizational status, and breaking news.
• Manage internal employee website and all associated content

Level of experience:
• Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience leading in most of the duties in this job description.

• Strong creative writing skills and the ability to understand business problems and priorities and conceptualize compelling, impactful communications that address them
• Seek out improvements to communication flow and messaging platforms
• Ability and appreciation for understanding audience mindsets and behaviors in order to craft relevant communications
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Comfortable approaching various team members, at all levels
• Adept at developing relationships to bring forth insights and information
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects under tight deadlines
• Good organizational skills and attention to details
• Competent in Drupal, Site Core, Word Press, or similar web-based communication platform
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically PowerPoint and Word)

• A Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing, or similar field of study

Preferred skills and competencies include:
• Prior NASA/KSC experience; direct GSDO experience is a plus
• Must be U.S. Citizen per contractual requirements
