Red Canyon is passionate about "improving our own" planet. This passion has spurred many efforts to reduce our carbon footprint and support earth-conscious projects. In addition to recycling and being 90% paperless in our home office, here are the ways we are living by our value:

Certifiably Green
Red Canyon is proud to be a Certifiably Green business! In order to receive this certification, we completed a Green Checklist covering several categories such as Energy Efficiency, Water Conservation, and Resource Management. A few of the items in which we participate include recycling, installing high-efficiency toilets, purchasing Energy Star-rated equipment, and donating extra office supplies and materials to local nonprofits or schools. National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL) Support
Red Canyon current supports NREL on their Energy Systems Integration Facility (ESIF) projects. Our efforts are contributing to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy's (EERE) Grid Integration Initiative to create a smooth integration of clean energy technologies into the electrical grid.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)
The State of Colorado awarded us with a $250,000 Advanced Industries grant to expand our autonomous flight software into the open source arena. This software will be applicable for UAV use across various industries to conserve resources and increase efficiency. Our integration of autonomous components into a layered architecture results in an overall system that allows for optimized, dynamic planning of spacecraft activities, while at the same time, provides operational autonomy over a shorter time-horizon in the form of fast real-time heuristic control and event-driven processing.
